This large bipedal predator lived in the United States in the Early Cretaceous, about 125 – 100 million years ago. Acrocanthosaurus was 11.5 metres long and weighed over 6.2 metric tons. It had tall spines on many of its vertebrae that most likely supported a ridge of muscle along its back, neck, and hips.
