Iguanodon was a bulky herbivore that could probably move about on two or four legs. One of its best-known features is its thumb spike, possibly used as a weapon against predators, or as a tool to open seeds and fruits. Iguanodon was the second type of dinosaur formally described based on fossil evidence, in 1825.
